The Urge to Splurge: What Wedding Expenses Are Worth the Expense?
Oct 31, 2018 02:21 PM Back
Weddings are no small ticket item, but are all these expenses really necessary? Some are, some, not so much.
Here’s a list of MUSTS for every soon to be married couple.
1. Marvelous Menus: Food and drink are a top priority….especially for today’s couples who have a penchant for elegant eats. Consider gourmet versions of your favorites including family staples. Go beyond three or four basic selections and serve up a variety of good food ensuring there is something (special) for everyone.
2. Location, Location, Location: Not only where you get married, but the time of day, is definitely worth the splurge. However, be open to options that may afford you a more affordable event so that you can spend a little more on other imperatives.
3. Entertainment: Don’t skimp on your DJ, band or live entertainment….after all guests are there to be, well, entertained. Make sure you pick professionals who are poised, polished and KNOW how to get the party started and keep it going.
4. Decadent Desserts: Go big before going home. Your cake and dessert display is just as important as the food. Think about unique ways to sweeten your soiree with delicious desserts and dessert tables.
5. Favors They Will Favor: Think about how you’d feel about another bowl or mini picture frame. Instead put your focus on favors that are guest friendly….tasteful and useful. Think local honey, jam, home-baked cookies and other confections…you get the picture.
6. Haute Honeymoon: Exotic escapes are definitely worth the extra investment especially since this is likely a once in a lifetime adventure.
